Influenza Update Week 13 by Dr J Gallagher (EHA)

During week 13 2011 Influenza activity remained at low levels in Ireland. The sentinel GP influenza-like illness (ILI) consultation rate was decreased compared to the rate of week 12 2011. ILI rates remain below baseline levels and are low in all age groups. No confirmed influenza cases were admitted to hospital during week 13 2011. No confirmed influenza cases have been admitted to ICU since February 17th 2011. No new outbreaks of influenza/ILI have been reported since week 5 2011.
